The exhibition Today becomes yesterday, and yesterday becomes tomorrow – Part II: Conversations Across Time is an extension of the exhibition that explores the passage of time as a process that connects the past, the present, and the future. If, in the first part of the exhibition, time was considered as an overlapping of memory and the history of art, in this iteration, the exhibition moves toward questioning histories of the past, or how they are read, selected, and brought back to form new dialogues of meaning in the present. . When contemporary artists assume the role of selecting and reframing works from the past, new dialogues emerge between artworks from different periods. These encounters may suggest continuity, introduce tension, or question established interpretations shaped by earlier historical frameworks. Through this process, the collection is not only a place of preservation but also a space for reflection, where art history continues to be reconsidered and rewritten. . Throughout the exhibition, visitors encounter works from the collection alongside contemporary artworks, as well as sketches, drafts and research materials that reflect each artist’s creative process. Together, these elements trace the development of dialogues across different moments in time while offering insight into how artistic ideas evolve and respond to their historical contexts. . The most significant evidence of human existence in the social and cultural dimension is undoubtedly the material testimony we call “art.” Since prehistoric cave eras, art has accompanied humanity by recording what the eyes perceived and transferring it through the hands into inscriptions, while cultivating aesthetic sensibilities that shaped our understanding of beauty. Across different periods, art has carried intentions intertwined with human life, society, politics, culture, and even the liberation of the spirit in its pursuit of truth. Art stands as a vital tool and mechanism that allows us to discern the definitions and meanings of perception as they move alongside the shifting realities of time. . Truth is transient, and art functions in a similar way. The exhibition "Today becomes yesterday, and yesterday becomes tomorrow" draws on works from the Silpakorn University Art Collections to explore and generate dialogues about truth across multiple dimensions. The atmosphere of change creates a distinct space where viewers can pause, reflect on the unfolding realities around them, and open a conceptual space to consider the passage of time and truths that are gradually fading. The rapid pace of the contemporary world can cause us to overlook or ignore the stories around us, including the state of the mind. Social histories that have passed through time may exist only as sediments of experience, rather than solidified crystallizations. These sediments continue to move, forming faint dust from the past, circulating through artistic expression, and shaping the creation and perception of contemporary art in the present. . หอศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรชวนชมนิทรรศการ ทุนสร้างสรรค์ศิลปกรรม ศิลป์ พีระศรี ครั้งที่ 24

การแสดงศิลปกรรมแห่งชาติ ครั้งที่ 70
การแสดงศิลปกรรมแห่งชาตินับเป็นเวทีการประกวดระดับชาติที่มีประวัติความเป็นมายาวนานที่สุดในประเทศไทย และจัดการแสดงอย่างต่อเนื่องโดยมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร จนถึงปัจจุบันนับเป็นครั้งที่ 70 เพื่อเป็นการสนับสนุนและเปิดโอกาสให้ศิลปินไทยได้มีเวทีแห่งการสร้างสรรค์ในระดับชาติ โดยการส่งผลงานศิลปกรรมประเภทจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม ภาพพิมพ์ และสื่อประสม เข้าประกวดโดยมีกรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิร่วมตัดสิน นิทรรศการจัดแสดงระหว่างวันที่ 7 ถึง 27 พฤศจิกายน 2568 ณ พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติ หอศิลป ถนนเจ้าฟ้า กรุงเทพฯ https://maps.app.goo.gl/gqC9eHRbhAnvsU8aA เวลา 9.00 – 16.00 น. พุธ-อาทิตย์ (เว้นวันจันทร์และวันอังคาร) หลังจากนั้นจะนำไปจัดแสดง ณ สถาบันศิลปะในส่วนภูมิภาคต่อไป ในวันอังคารที่ 11 พฤศจิกายน 2568 จะเปิดให้เข้าชมได้เฉพาะเวลา 16.00 - 18.00 น.เท่านั้น ---------- THE 70th NATIONAL EXHIBITION OF ART The National Exhibition of Art has been established continuously to encourage Thai people to learn and understand modern art and submit works for competition. All of the artworks have been selected by honorable jurors from various fields of fine arts. The exhibition aims to enhance the art creativity and also promote knowledge of art appreciation to the public. As time flows, the sediments of memory leave behind faint yet rich traces. History moves through time, spaces, people, and countless narratives that crystallize into witnesses of the past, embedded deep within objects or concepts that shape meaning and interpretation. Change is a truth of reality, but its residue is memory, lingering, smoldering, and leaving subtle imprints. The exhibition Remnants of Fading Shadows by Wantanee Siripattananuntakul offers a contemplative space in which the drifting traces of memory unfold, from fragile personal narratives intricately woven into the fabric of society, politics, history, state, and nation, to meditations on the fate of nature amid collapsing ecosystems and disintegrating social structures that leave behind their lingering imprints. The dialogues within Remnants of Fading Shadows guide viewers back to the seemingly trivial, forgotten, or unseen fragments surrounding them, fragments that may, in truth, be the sediments of countless intertwined narratives that have shaped both life and society. Shadows of the past whisper to the present, their voiceless phrases carrying the breath of memory. These traces do not vanish with the fragile passing of time, but linger, like ashes of shadows, drifting ever so gently through the currents of time. หอศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร ชวนเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเสวนา “หลังปมนิทรรศการกับมุมมองในประเทศไทย”
แนวคิดเรื่องปมนิทรรศการ (exhibitionary complex) ถูกพัฒนาโดย โทนี เบนเน็ตต์ (Tony Bennett) นักทฤษฎีวัฒนธรรมชาวอังกฤษ เพื่ออธิบายว่าพิพิธภัณฑ์ นิทรรศการ และสถาบันในลักษณะเดียวกัน เกิดขึ้นในศตวรรษที่ 19 ในฐานะเครื่องมือในการควบคุมทางสังคมและการให้การศึกษา แตกต่างจากระบบวินัยในยุคก่อนที่อาศัยการลงโทษและการเฝ้าระวัง ปมนิทรรศการ ใช้การจัดแสดงในพื้นที่สาธารณะ—โดยการแสดงวัตถุและองค์ความรู้ต่อผู้ชมจำนวนมาก—เพื่อส่งเสริมคุณค่าอย่างเช่น ระเบียบ วินัย ความเป็นพลเมือง และอัตลักษณ์ของชาติ เป็นวิธีการที่ส่งผลต่อการเข้าใจและกำกับตนเองของคนตั้งแต่อดีตถึงปัจจุบัน แต่ในโลกที่ ระเบียบ ถูกเข้าแทนที่ด้วยเครือข่ายและการมีส่วนร่วม ปมของนิทรรศการก็มีการปรับเปลี่ยนไป โรนัลด์ คอล์บ (Ronald Kolb) นักวิชาการ นักวิจัย และภัณฑารักษ์ชาวเยอรมัน เสนอแนวคิดใหม่คือ หลังปมนิทรรศการ (post-exhibitionary complex) ซึ่งมองว่านิทรรศการเป็นพื้นที่ทางสังคมที่กระทำการ—เป็นเขตติดต่อ (contact zones)—ที่แผ่ออกไปนอกขอบเขตของโลกศิลปะในเชิงสุนทรียะ แทนที่จะใช้รูปแบบ “แสดงและบอก” แบบดั้งเดิม แนวทางแบบหลังนิทรรศการที่สนับสนุนรูปแบบการเรียนรู้แบบมีส่วนร่วมและตัดข้ามมิติทางวิชา (transversal) ที่เปิดเผยสิ่งต่าง ๆ สู่สาธารณะอย่างกระตือรือร้น สนทนาครั้งนี้จะชวนคิดต่อถึงสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นระหว่างปมนิทรรศการ และหลังปมนิทรรศการในบริบทของประเทศไทย ทบทวนความเปลี่ยนแปลงภายในประเทศ พร้อมตั้งคำถามว่า หลังปมนิทรรศการ คืออะไรในบริบทหลังอาณานิคม เป็นสิ่งใหม่ หรือเป็นของเก่าเล่าใหม่เพียงเท่านั้น เสวนาโดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.เอกสุดา สิงห์ลำพอง อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ คณะโบราณคดี มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร รับผิดชอบการสอนในรายวิชาด้านประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะตะวันตกตั้งแต่สมัยโบราณ ถึงสมัยกลาง และรายวิชาที่เกี่ยวข้องกับบริบททางสังคมต่าง ๆ เช่น ภาวะอาณานิคม หลังอาณานิคม และเพศภาวะ อาจารย์ ดร. วิภาช ภูริชานนท์ อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ คณะโบราณคดี มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร งานวิจัยของเขามุ่งเน้นที่จุดเชื่อมระหว่างการปฏิบัติการภัณฑารักษ์ วัตถุ จดหมายเหตุ เศรษฐศาสตร์ และเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ วิภาชเคยเป็นภัณฑารักษ์ผู้ช่วยในการจัดงานไทยแลนด์เบียนนาเล่ครั้งแรก (กระบี่, 2561) ภัณฑารักษ์ของงาน Singapore Biennale 2019 (สิงคโปร์, 2562) และภัณฑารักษ์ร่วมของไทยแลนด์เบียนนาเล่ครั้งที่สอง (โคราช, 2564) วันศุกร์ที่ 15 สิงหาคม 2568 เวลา 15.00 - 17.00 น.ณ ท้องพระโรง หอศิลป์มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร วังท่าพระ ลงทะเบียนได้ที่ https://forms.gle/E4gYR3rNRfYrR3qx5 กิจกรรมนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของนิทรรศการ Remnants of Fading Shadows โดย วันทนีย์ ศิริพัฒนานันทกูร |

“The river I wade into is never the same. Its waters drift, its currents change. All things flow, all things fade. In each moment, all is remade. We cannot step in the same river twice.”- Heraclitus The stream may seem still, yet it flows, slipping past us, carried by time’s endless course. So, it is with life. The exhibition “No man ever steps in the same river twice” presents the space of transition within the currents of artistic expression. It reflects on the dynamic flow from the era when modern art first ignited a blaze of innovation, sparking shifts in thought and creative approaches that continue to shape contemporary art today. These transformations create an ongoing dialogue across time and space. In Thailand, the rise of modern art was influenced by historical, social, political, and cultural shifts as the country transitioned from old traditions to a new era. Each artistic era, therefore, encapsulates profound narratives of social phenomena, shaping and shaped by the ever-changing landscape of society. This exhibition brings together selected works from Silpakorn University Art Collections, juxtaposing pieces from a past era with those of contemporary artists to create a dialogue across time. Within this space of transition, we witness shifts in artistic forms, concepts, techniques, and even perspectives on creative thought. Each work embodies a sense of movement, engaging in an ongoing exchange that resonates with the present audience. As the world changes, so too does society, and art evolves alongside it. This exhibition invites us to observe what endures, what transforms, and how art interacts with the ever-shifting social landscape.
